| Shifting global demographics coupled with a downtrodden economy has created a political atmosphere ripe with questionable policy attempts and legal decisions pertaining to immigration reform. Whether it be housing ordinances, deportation law, official language disputes, changes in drivers license requirements and voter identification laws, the state of American immigration policy continues to harbour thinly veiled executions of discriminatory political/legal action. It would therefore be the task of this special issue to perform a series of legal/political analyses of these actions as they pertain to the tensions surrounding immigration reform in the United States. |
