The Social Inclusion of the Poor According to Hernando de Soto
Abstract
Abstract: According to economist Hernando de Soto, it seems that the triumph of the market is a fact and that the way out of situations of poverty in the Third World countries and those that have recently come out of communism necessarily involves the market economy, or in the words of this author, no country with any common sense considers any other option. In this paper I analyze his proposal to include the informality, which is how he calls those who practice underground economy, in the market. It is an original proposal because it intends that they form part of the solution and not be part of the problem and does it through the legal recognition of property rights.
