About the Chinese Character of “Ri”(“日”)

Abstract

The Chinese character of “Ri”(“日” )is a typical pictographic character. Given the fact that it reflects natural objects, it is very easy for it to be noticed by ancient people in the beginning of the Chinese character formation. Therefore, the examination of the character of “Ri”(“日” ) is of great significance to the study of Chinese characters. In the meantime, by examining the close ties between the character of “Ri”(“日”) and the Chinese culture, we will be able to provide ways of thinking to understand the cultural and psychological dimension of Chinese characters.

Résumé Le caractère « soleil » est un idéogramme typique. Comme il reflète la nature, les créateurs des caractères chinois de l’Antiquité pensèrent facilement à lui. Donc l’étude de ce caractère revêtit une portée universelle pour la recherche du caractère chinois. En même temps, l’investigation sur les liens étroits entre ce caractère et la culture contribue à compréhendre la formation de la psychologie culturelles des caractères chinois. 摘要 “日”字是一個典型的象形文字。因其反映自然之物，最容易進入漢字造字之初古人的視野，所以考察“日”字，對於研究漢文字，具有普遍性的意義，同時根據“日”字與文化之間密切聯繫的考察，為瞭解漢字的文化心理構成提供思路。
